Seven awards are up for grabs at the black tie event, which takes place on Thursday 3 March at the Royal Armouries Hall in Leeds, with the winners automatically going through to Insider’s national Made in the UK Awards Dinner, which forms part of the International Festival for Business 2016.
This year’s finalists were judged by an independent panel of experts comprising June Smith, external affairs manager at EEF, Medilink director Jason Brannan, IoD regional director Natalie Sykes, Stephen Gregory, Pera Consulting regional manager, and Dave Belmont, company secretary at Acorn Stairlifts. The keynote speech will be delivered by AESSEAL founder Chris Rea, one of the region’s most successful entrepreneurs.
The judges found the competition strong across all the award categories and, encouragingly, there were a significant number of entries for the small manufacturer bracket, showing that new companies are emerging all the time. This also demonstrates the level of competition for this award, and highlights Winder Power’s success in being nominated.
Commenting on the nominations, General Manager Paul Matthews said; “It is very rewarding for the whole team to have their hard work recognised by the wider business community as a whole, and we are particularly pleased that our extensive apprenticeship scheme has resulted in a nomination.”
