Winder Power has announced that it has made a six-figure investment in its Pudsey manufacturing and test facility as part of its ongoing development plans.

The company has completed a full refurbishment of its factory; including new flooring and a revamp of its production layout aimed at further improving efficiencies.

Meanwhile the company’s highly regarded test facility has also been improved, with a refurbished control room, enhanced security measures, and a new customer viewing area where visitors can watch their products on test.

In addition, Winder Power has adopted some cutting edge Just-in-Time consumables supply initiatives, courtesy of managed vending machines from partner BBN that monitor usage of consumables in real time and therefore ensure materials are available when required without requiring unnecessary stock holding.

Commenting on the project, Managing Director Paul Matthews said; “We are committed to a process of continuous improvement, and realise that in order to maintain our enviable position in the industry we need to strive to improve our ways of working at every opportunity.

“Since we launched our test facility 10 years ago we have seen it go from strength to strength, with some of the leading manufacturers in Europe coming to us to test their transformers. We are delighted that they will now have somewhere comfortable to watch their products being tested and ask any questions that they may have.”
