Winder Power has announced the appointment of Dr Ben Coe as the General Manager of Newton Derby, its rotating machines division.
Dr Coe has a very strong technical background in rotating machines and magnet technology, and has held senior roles with Siemens, Magtec Ltd and Magnomatics Ltd.
He studied at the University of Salford where he gained an honours degree in Physics, and then completed a Doctorate in Philosophy (Ph.D.) in applied physics.
In Dr Coe’s recent roles he has been heavily involved in quality improvement and the implementation of robust and accredited quality systems.
Whilst at Magtec, Ben was involved in the manufacture of drive-train solutions and other specialist machine projects, including responsibility for the electromagnetic and thermal design of brushless AC permanent magnet machines. In his time with Magnomatics, Ben has been heavily involved in the electromagnetic design, performance optimisation and manufacturing technology of rotating electrical machines.
Commenting on the appointment, Winder Power Group Chief Executive Laurence MacKenzie said; “With his strong technical background, Ben will add a great deal to the business. Winder Power has also recently been awarded a RoSPA Gold Award for safety, and has been shortlisted for a regional manufacturing award.
